How to Create a Mega Menu in Nexsas
Nexsas allows you to build rich, multi-column dropdown menus using the power of Elementor. You can display images, icons, products, or complex layouts directly inside your navigation.
Step 1: Create the Menu Content#
First, we need to design what goes inside the dropdown.
- Go to your WordPress Dashboard.
- Navigate to Mega Menu > Add New Menu.
- Give your menu a title (e.g., "Products Mega Menu").
- Critical Step: In the Page Attributes box on the right, change the Template to Elementor Canvas.
Why? This removes the header/footer so only your menu content appears. - Click Publish and then Edit with Elementor.
Step 2: Design with Elementor#
You can now design your menu just like any other page.
- Option A (Fastest): Click the Nexsas icon to open our Template Library. Select the Mega Menu category and insert a pre-made layout.
- Option B (Custom): Build your own layout using sections and widgets.
Step 3: Assign to the Main Menu#
Now that the design is ready, we need to connect it to your main navigation bar.
- Go to Appearance > Menus.
- Select your Primary Menu.
- Look for the "Mega Menu" tab in the left sidebar.
Troubleshooting: If you don't see "Mega Menu" in the left list, scroll to the very top of the screen, click Screen Options, and check the box for "Mega Menu". - Select the Mega Menu you just created and click Add to Menu.
- Drag and Drop: Place the Mega Menu item as a sub-item under the parent link you want it to appear on (e.g., under "Features" or "Products").
Step 4: Adjust Menu Width#
You can control how wide the dropdown appears on the screen.
- Click the small arrow on the Mega Menu item to expand its settings.
- Find the Mega Menu Width dropdown.
- Choose your preferred width:
- 100% Width: Full screen width (Standard).
- 75% / 50% Width: Best for smaller menus or specific design needs.
- Click Save Menu.
